Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. The formula comes with a high concentration of this vitamin at 10% via the zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid to balance visible aspects of sebum activity.

Contraindications: If topical vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid and/or ethyl L-ascorbic acid) is used as part of skin care, it should be used at alternating times with this formulation (preferably Vitamin C in the evening and this formulation in the morning). Otherwise, niacinamide can affect the effectiveness of vitamin C.

Scents: While Niacinamide and Zinc PCA reduce the appearance of blemishes and balance visible sebum activity, neither is an acne cure. For persistent acne-related conditions, we recommend benzoyl peroxide and/or retinoic acid. Deciem does not recommend the continued use of beta hydroxy acids such as salicylic acid for stubborn blemishes. To temporarily improve the appearance of pimples, salicylic acid is very helpful. This formula can be used in conjunction with acne treatments if desired for more visible skin benefits.
